In many cases, the “optimistic” total market value predictions based on which I shorted that shit were, if anything, absurdly conservative. I was _so wrong_ about the future market size, all the time.

Now I’m thinking that the way we short sellers actually made money despite of being totally wrong about the future was by identifying founders and companies who weren’t going to win no matter what.
