Kakorkoli že, dvomim, da je gospod predsednik Motorenwerke povedal, da bo njegova firma v sosednji Madžarski postavila novo tovarno za okroglo milijardico evrčkov. Tam se bo pridružila svojima Volksgenossen (Audi in Mercedes), ki sta pri Ogrih že lepo udomačena.

BMW baut ein neues Werk in Ungarn. In der Fabrik nahe der Stadt Debrecen in Ostungarn sollen bis zu 150.000 Fahrzeuge jährlich vom Band laufen, wie der Münchner Autobauer am Dienstag mitteilte. Rund eine Milliarde Euro soll der Bau des neues Standorts kosten.
Audi und Mercedes sind schon da, nun folgt auch BMW – und baut ein neues Werk in Ungarn. Die deutschen Werke seien an der Grenze der Kapazität angekommen.

BMW said it is investing 1 billion euros in a new car factory in eastern Hungary, a project that could contribute to the country’s growth and strengthen its position as a center for premium car manufacturing in the region.
Car manufacturing accounts for around one-third of Hungary’s exports now, and with BMW this could rise to 40 percent or even more, said Peter Virovacz, an analyst at ING in Budapest.
“The biggest question mark regarding this investment will be the Hungarian labor market ... it is already very hard to find 1,000 employees, let alone in 2 years from now,” he said.
Hungary, along with other Central European economies, has been struggling with a serious shortage of workers partly due to a mass emigration to the west for higher wages.

Katere modele bodo proizvajali na Madžarskem, v BMW niso povedali, so pa razkrili, da bodo lahko na eni proizvodnji liniji izdelovali tako električna vozila kot vozila z motorji z notranjim izgorevanjem. (prav je zgorevanjem, ne izgorevanjem)

BTW 2, Bavarci so že odprli spletno podstran za svojo novo tovarno, za katero niso objavili niti okvirnega datuma, kdaj jo bodo začeli graditi in kdaj naj bi začela obratovati. :-)

Na to bi lahko pripomnil, kako bomo Slovenclji po mnogih deželnih prepirih in vladnih darovih dobili samo eno lakirnico in ohlapno obljubo Magne. Pa ne bom, ker je očitno okrog teh tovarn ogromno politikantskega dima in megle, predvsem pa, domnevam, neskončno oklevanje in licitiranje.

HUNGARY: Hungary still competes for hosting BMW car plant
The paper said that BMW managers held recent talks in Hungary, but a number of other places are also vying for the factory, including several regions in the eastern part of Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland.
`Vilaggazdasag' added that BMW will make its decision on the site by 2001. Since one condition is that it be easily and quickly accessed, only Hungary's western region can compete. Another factor will be the amount of local taxes, so Hungary's local governments are offering a tax holiday, as reducing unemployment is a more important consideration. The plant would employ several thousand people.

Handelsblatt pred več kot šestimi leti o tem, da tovarne BMW "pokajo po vseh šivih" in da so možnosti vzhodnoevropskih držav za pridobitev investicije vedno manjše.

Doch die Chancen für die Osteuropäer sinken - vor allem mit dem Fortgang der Euro-Krise. „In Europa trifft uns die Härte des Marktes“, äußerte Reithofer auf der Hauptversammlung. Immer öfter leitet BMW daher für Europa bestimmte Autos in Richtung USA und China um. Zum Teil müssen die für Europa bestimmten Dieselmotoren wieder ausgebaut werden und durch Benzinmotoren ersetzt werden.

Was für Nordamerika Mexiko ist, ist für Europa der Osten. Dort können Autobauer günstiger fertigen lassen als in Westeuropa und sie hoffen auf neue Märkte.
Einzig BMW fällt aus dem Bild. Die Bayern bauen ihre Autos in Europa nur in Deutschland, England und Österreich. Die Produktion folge dem Markt, begründet eine Sprecherin die Entscheidung. Nur in Russland lässt BMW vom russischen Partner Avtotor in Kaliningrad 3er und 5er Limousinen sowie mehrere Geländewagen der X-Reihe fertigen.
