Global je pravzaprav res dober. Sem naročnik že od začetka. Sicer ga redko ujamem, ker prihaja k fotru, ampak za na dopust redno jemljem in se da od začetka do konca prebrat.
Mene je Global zaradi profila nekaj časa mikal, a se mu nisem posvečal. Najbrž bo poldrugo leto ali dve tega, kar sem ga na dopustu resno vzel v roke. Imel sem več številk, ki sem jih najprej z zanimanjem prelistal, potem v veliki meri prebral, pa čez nekaj časa ugotovil, da ima vse nekako isti okus.

Ko sem pregledal vire člankov in prebral kolofon, sem sklenil, da me je najbrž zmotil priokus blažene vode patra Marcela juniorja. Lahko da gre samo za moj osebni/osebnostni problem. Čeprav sem samo provincialen pobalin, mi je še iz mladosti in obdobja kultne slave Josipa Vidmarja nepojmljivo, da bi mi domovino, svet in vesolje tolmačil en sam pa-naj-bo-še-tako-pameten lokalni übermensch.

P.S.: Da ne bo izgledalo, da mi je Marcel junior kriv za vse, tudi National Geographic me ne potegne več tako kot včasih. Malo je krivo tudi to, da imam dostop do kupa starih NG, in lahko malo primerjam, kaj so objavljali takrat in kaj je zdaj. En tak primer sem našel pred dnevi. NG, junij 2004: "Think gas is expensive now? Just wait. You've heard it before, but this time it's for real: we're at the beginning of the end of cheap oil." :-)

Medtem ko se v Nemčiji ukvarjajo z smart-doll-bustingom, je raziskovalec IBM v ZDA ugotovil, da je še vedno povezan z avtomobilom, ki ga je prodal že pred več kot enim letom. In to kljub temu, da se nekaj spozna na informatiko in da s prodajalcem avtomobilov menda izbrisala vse osebne podatke in sledove, kolikor sta pač mogla.

A Land Rover Discovery Sport owner who sold his car privately was able to continue accessing the car’s InControl app even though the new owner was now on the other side of the country. He could still find out the car's location, and worryingly whether or not it was locked.
Another second-hand owner contacted Auto Express over saved addresses on his Honda CR-V's sat-nav. They had bought the car from a “famous celebrity’s wife” but were stunned to see all previous sat-nav destinations were stored in the car’s system.
